About the dinner

Enjoy a magical evening featuring festive carnival games, magicians, a silent auction, gourmet dinner, entertainment and an inspiring program. Together, let's make magic for Hope Street!

Program

5:30 p.m.: Reception, silent auction and carnival games
7:00 p.m.: Dinner program followed by candy bar and carnival games

Parking

Complimentary valet parking will be available for all guests; however, we strongly encourage early arrival and ridesharing to avoid any check-in delays.

Dress code: Colorful cocktail

Men: Collared shirt (including polo shirt), slacks, khakis, jeans and closed-toe leather shoes, deck shoes or athletic shoes.

Women: Dress, skirt, slacks, khakis, jeans with sweater, shirt or top, and open or closed-toe shoes, loafers, dressy sandals or athletic shoes.

About our magician: Mark Furey

Mark Furey Mark Furey has been working as a professional magician since he was in high school. Currently, he travels the country performing at corporate events, private parties and various charity functions.  He's been featured in several television commercials and daytime talk shows. He's also a regular at Marvyn's Magic Theater in La Quinta, Calif. and a headliner at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About our certified sommelier: Theo Popov

Based in San Francisco, Theo Popov is an award-winning composer of music for the theater stage and film screen whose five operas have received multiple productions across the United States. His interest in wine was sparked by the numerous cultural, creative and epicurean parallels he observed between it and music. He holds a Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Diploma and is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers Americas.

Theo is a passionate educator with more than a decade of experience teaching different age groups through renowned programs such as Matter of Wine. Through his company, Vine Opera, he has led wine-and-music tours on three continents and is excited to be partnering with the Diogo Carvalho Music Festivals for their next iteration. In 2022, Theo certified Stella Rosa’s Guinness World Record win for world’s largest flute of prosecco—6 feet tall containing 144 bottles!  

About the venue: The Great Lawn at Jonathan Club 

Located on the Jonathan Club’s 5th floor rooftop, the Great Lawn is surrounded by mirrored skyscrapers and offers spectacular views overlooking downtown Los Angeles. With European-inspired landscape and an urban garden that provides the Jonathan Club’s culinary team with fresh produce, the Great Lawn takes the Champions for Children Luncheon to new heights.
